FINANCIAL AID PROGRAM

The Seminary maintains a Financial Aid program for needy students who are studying at ATS in full-time, Bachelor of Arts, Diploma and Certificate programs. The funding for this program comes from donors who are interested in assisting students at ATS. The balance in the fund varies from time to time. There may be times when the balance is zero and there is no guarantee that funds are ever available, or that an application for support can be granted.  As our donors make funds available, they are then made available to our students.

The Financial Aid Program has limited funds to assist students having difficulty with paying their fees. Financial assistance is limited to payment of fees and is not provided for other expenses related to student’s education such as travel.  Students are responsible for all payment of fees and additional expenses related to their education needs at ATS, and are expected to explore all options available to them for payment of fees and other costs, prior to requesting consideration for financial assistance.

Some of the options may include:

  • Your personal resources
  • Your church or church denomination
  •  Friends and family
  • Other connections

There are two forms of financial assistance. The Financial Aid Committee determines the actual form and amount of support to award to any one student.

1. Shepherd Scholarships
This scholarship covers tuition fees only. Students must pay all incidental fees and 10% of the school fees. These are awarded only after careful consideration of the student’s academic potential and ability to successfully complete the program.

2. Financial Assistance
This is a one-time assistance as funds are available by donors. Students are never guaranteed Financial Assistance.
After exploring all options, if financial assistance is still needed, the following are the procedures for application:

  • Review your current status and balance due at ATS with the Account’s office.
  • Project your future needs for funds.
  • Discuss your actual need for financial assistance.
  • Discuss your need with your Departmental Dean and write a letter of application to the Financial Aid Committee.
  • If directed by the Departmental Dean, you may be requested to attend a meeting with the Financial Aid Committee.
